Med AC Charging Professional og en 22 kW-ladeboks eller en offentlig ladestander på 22 kW lader bilen med de fulde 22 kW, og BMW angiver 4 timer og 15 minutter for 40 xDrive og 5 timer og 30 minutter for 50 xDrive fra tomt til fuldt. Standardladeren tager 11 kW fra en almindelig 11 kW-ladeboks med tre faser, og her angiver BMW 8 timer og 15 minutter og 11 timer.
